Carved Chest With Chain Latch, c. 1800

The stepped lid, faceted corner finials, and hand-forged iron chain latch and strap hardware are diagnostic features of Northwest Frontier or Rajasthani craftsmanship, built to store and transport dowry textiles and valuables across long distances.
