Wooden Milliner's Hat Mold, c. 1920s - 1940s

$395.00

Dimensions: 11.75"H x 8.25"W x 10"D
Material(s): Beech Hat Mold with Pine or Fir Pedestal

This two-piece milliner's hat block was used in the traditional craft of millinery to shape and form felt hats. Comprised of a rounded crown block seated on a wide brim block, with original leather trim nailed to the brim edge. Workshop numbers stamped into the wood (3 / 64 / 461) indicate a size 64 European hat (approx. 7⅞ US), consistent with French or Italian professional millinery practice. The turned wood pedestal base is likely a later addition and detaches from the block.
